When we stayed in Kyoto in May, we used Mei H.K. as our son's babysitter. My son is a very shy and dependent child. When Mei H.K. arrived at our hotel, she immediately jumped in and started playing with him. Because my son loves Anpanman, she brought a book to attract his attention.
I am so thankful that she sent us lots of videos and messages updating us on how he was doing. My son truly enjoyed the time he spent with her, and she brought many different toys to play with him together. We will definitely hire Mei H.K. again when we go to
Japan next summer.
My baby, 1 year and 8 months old, was with me in the USJ theme park, and she was gorgeous with him. She even tried to speak Arabic to us so he would feel comfortable with her. She was very friendly and lovely. She knew which places suited him and took him to eat. She reported to us immediately what was happening in an honest report, not just to make us relaxed. We got a chance to play all the games we wanted, and she was so happy to extend her time and stay. Thanks again, Mei 💖
Mei is an absolute gem! Our children (3 years and 6 months) took to her immediately. She has a remarkably calm energy and integrated into our family dynamics perfectly. We were so impressed by her proactive nature—she steped in to help before we even had to ask. Plus, her local knowledge of family-friendly spots in Kyoto made our outings stress-free and fun. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter.
What an incredible service! I'm writing this review for Rainbow Kids Care and all their support during my family's trip to Japan in March of 2026.
We had three children in our group (my two sons, ages 4 & 6 and my nephew, age 7.) We planned a trip to Japan as a family, and over the course of our 10-day trip we wanted to go out on a few select nights and have some adult time while the kids slept.
I did some research, and found Rainbow Kids Care. We had three different nights we needed childcare in three difference cities in Japan. I coordinated the entire trip with Mai. She was very responsive, excellent communication with details, cost projections, and helping me schedule the service for the entire trip. Made the scheduling process so easy and answered every single question I had, and there were a lot of questions.
Night #1: Tokyo
Sitters: Hanna & Maki
Night #2: Kyoto
Sitters: Mika & Mei
Night #3: Osaka
Sitter: Eiko
Note, our nephew was not with us for this night, so Eiko handled both my kids only.
All five of the sitters communicated through what's app immediately after I completed the booking about a month in advance, and sent bios of themselves and templates to inquire about the kids, activities, schedules, any special notes, etc....
All five sitters then reached out a few days prior to our visit to review all the details, confirm the dates/times/location of the sitting and confirm the plan for that night.
Each sitter was in the lobby early and let me know they were on-site at the hotel/Ryokan when they arrived.
They all spoke perfect English and all the kids connected with them instantly!
Updates were sent throughout the night, amazing communication, and so comforting to know our kids were having fun, no issues and in-bed on time.
When we returned at the end of the nights, the kids were always sound asleep. Then we got a full comprehensive report from every single sitter summarizing the activities and timeline for the night. They worked on basic Japanese language skills, did origami and other art projects, played games together, etc....
I would 1000% recommend this service from Rainbow Kids. And if you're visiting any of the cities above, and your need a sitter that speaks English, please request any of the five sitters I mentioned above. Their professionalism was above and beyond anything I could have anticipated.

We had the pleasure of having Eiko and Mei take care of our 1.5 year old daughter multiple times during our time in Japan. Mei did an amazing job looking after our almost three year old! She was kind, attentive, and obviously has a lot of experience taking care of toddlers. Our son absolutely loved hanging out with her for a few hours, and she kind enough to make him an origami dinosaur, which he can’t get enough of! Highest recommendation for Mei and Rainbow Kids Care!
Mei was great! She was very flexible and willing to take turns with our different kids at the park, she even took lots of pictures and videos and sent them to us throughout the day to help. Keep us updated so we didn’t have to worry. The kids loved her and were really sad when it was time for us to part ways.
