Nice to meet you! My name is Iris, and I’m from Sydney, Australia.

I moved to Japan in November 2024 to immerse myself in its rich culture. I am fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and while I am not fluent in Japanese, I can communicate using basic, conversational phrases. I have previously visited Japan eight times and have dreamt of living here since my early twenties!

I graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. Over nearly eight years of experience, I worked full-time at a long day care center, gaining expertise in child development principles and providing high-quality education and care.

I understand that children experience big emotions, and guiding them through these feelings isn’t always easy. I use emotion coaching strategies to support their well-being, helping them recognize, understand, and manage their emotions in a healthy way. For older children, I strive to be both a supportive friend and a mentor—sharing jokes, introducing engaging, age-appropriate activities, and challenging their curious minds. I’m also very patient and understanding when working with children who have developmental delays.

I strongly believe that children learn best through play. As such, I’m happy to provide a variety of fun activities such as arts and crafts, storytelling, and singing songs, allowing you to enjoy some personal time. My experience includes planning and implementing educational activities, monitoring children’s development, creating positive and inclusive learning environments, and collaborating closely with parents.

Whether you’d like me to look after your children in your hotel, accompany your family to magical destinations like Disneyland, explore cultural landmarks, or simply engage your children at a location of your choice, I’m here to help make your family’s experience in Japan both seamless and memorable.
