About Me
Hello, and welcome to Japan! My name is Koko. I’m originally from Kanagawa, just south of Tokyo, and spent a year in San Diego, California, during university. After graduating, I gained valuable experience working in international environments, including a Taiwanese company and an international preschool in Tokyo. These experiences helped me become comfortable communicating with families from different cultures and backgrounds.
My passion for caring for children began early in life. I’ve always loved making little ones smile and feel at ease. In 2005, I had the opportunity to work at an international preschool in Tokyo. That experience left such a lasting impression that I decided to pursue childcare professionally. While working, I obtained my childcare certification and have since completed over 300 babysitting assignments for families across Japan.
I’ve worked in a wide variety of childcare settings, including short-term care at events, supporting athlete families during tournaments, and offering reliable babysitting support to traveling and local families. No matter the setting, I always focus on creating a safe, calm, and enjoyable experience, even when meeting a child for the very first time.
When caring for children, I love adapting our activities to their age and interests. Whether it’s origami, crafts, storytelling, outdoor games, or just sharing a relaxed moment together, I always think about what brings them joy and what sparks their curiosity. My goal is to make every moment count and leave them with a big smile, thinking, “That was fun!”
I’m also passionate about travel and believe that the people we meet along the way make all the difference. I’d be honored to help make your family’s time in Japan smooth, joyful, and full of wonderful memories.

We had an amazing experience with Rainbow Kids Care from our initial inquiries with the team, the booking process, and with the fantastic child care services we received while traveling abroad.
This was our first time booking childcare overseas for our 1.5 year old, and we had several specific questions that were answered almost immediately when we first reached out. They then helped us through the booking process to ensure our request (the same sitter for the 3 nights we planned) was completed. We were given several sitters to choose from which was also reassuring. Within a few days of booking, we heard from our specific sitter Koko and was able to start direct communications with her.
Koko is amazing!! Our son felt immediately at ease with her and her experience was apparent. She was very professional and adapted to his nighttime routine completely. She offered hourly updates and provided some of her own toys for entertainment. After just one night with Koko, our son already asked for her when he woke up the next morning. And by night 3 he was blowing her kisses and singing songs with her. We just wish Koko lived closer to us at home so we could have her as our son’s sitter even when we leave.
We will absolutely use Rainbow Kids Care the next time we visit Japan and encourage all families that are considering childcare services while on vacation to BOOK THEM ASAP!! We only wish we had booked some daytime services as well- any assistance with the kiddo while on vacation is invaluable!! We will not make that mistake again next trip. She is a wonderfully kind person who clearly loves children and can meet them at their energy and comfort level. Koko came prepared with plenty of age-appropriate crafts and activities. She was also very organized and provided us with a written summary including observations and a timeline of the day. This was our first time using a childcare agency and we felt like we were leaving our daughter in good hands. We will certainly ask for Koko again the next time we visit Tokyo! Also: Mai (the co-founder) handled our bookings and she was responsive and organized. Overall a very pleasant experience.
