Hello! My name is Mei, and I’m from Kyoto, Japan.
I have over four years of experience working as a certified nursery school teacher in Japan, where I supported children as a classroom lead. I always aim to create a safe, exciting, and nurturing environment that helps each child thrive in their own way. Through seasonal crafts, physical activities, and outdoor play, I enjoy planning fun and age-appropriate experiences based on each child’s interests and needs.

After my time as a teacher, I spent two years in the United States working as an au pair in both North Carolina and Texas. I cared for children between the ages of 1 and 12, helping with daily routines, playtime, outings, and family travel. I especially loved baking together, going on walks, and exploring new places with the children. Even now, I stay in touch with the families I cared for — we still exchange messages and letters regularly!

Now back in Japan, I enjoy visiting famous destinations such as Kinkakuji, Gion Festival, Osaka, Kagawa, and Tokyo. I’m also happy to accompany families on their trips as a travel sitter.

I understand that being away from your child, especially in a new country, can be stressful. That’s why I always take time to learn about your child’s personality, likes and dislikes, and daily rhythm. I’ll do my best to help your child feel safe, happy, and engaged — so you can relax and enjoy your time in Japan with peace of mind.
